1953 Born London

1972-73 Watford School of Art : foundation studies.

1973-76 Stourbridge College of Art : B.A. (Hons), Fine Art.

1976-77 St.Martin’s School of Art : post-graduate studies : Advanced Certificate in
Painting.

1977- Appointed part-time lecturer, St.Martin’s School of Art.
Commenced weekly “Art Observer” column for the Watford Observer.
Founding contributer to Artscribe magazine.

1978- Review Editor, Artscribe.
Appointed chief art critic, London Evening News.
Post-graduate lecturer, St.Martin’s.
Visiting lecturer, Chelsea School of Art, Royal College of Art, Royal Academy
Schools, Central School of Art & Design, Stourbridge College of Art.

1979- Art Editor, London Evening News.
Arts Features Editor, Evening News Colour Magazine.

1980- Appointed Art Critic, London Broadcasting Company (LBC Radio)
Art Editor, Weekender magazine.

1981-85 Freelance broadcaster, art critic & commentator.
Visiting lecturer & assessor
Joint-editor, Artscribe magazine.

1985 Joint editor – launching Artscribe International.

1987 Resigned from Artscribe International (on the 10th anniversary of the first Artscribe issue).
Moved to Herefordshire to paint and write.

1989 Married Janine.

1991-99 Ran two companies : the first manufacturing pewter miniatures, the second,
an antique/junk emporium.

1999- Decided, with support from my wife, to work full-time making art.
Began constructions.

2001 Commission from Mike Goldmark – leading to a 2003 exhibition.
